Meet Rubin - Re-homed
Rubin is a Blue Brindle 5 & half year old gorgeous male greyhound.
Yes, he is stunning, yes he is handsome, yes he is striking and yes, he is up for adoption, to the right person. No cats please and no other pets. No children and we want an experienced greyhound owner.
Rubin is a lovely boy who adores people. He is good on lead but is alert if sees something in distance so this is why we need experience, which is true of many greyhounds but we always need people to remember - they can see things we can’t! - even if it is just a carrier bag! The outside world from racing is all new to them and so until they settle, with some, we need to just be more aware of this.
He is extremely clean in kennels and an absolute pleasure to have around.
In fact, I will be honest - I would keep him but we don’t have room in the house! But I want him!!! So hurry up before I find room!!!
Anyone interested then call 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk or enquiries@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
Meet Duke - Now Re-homed
Meet Duke is a 3 year old black male greyhound (11 May 2016) (Was Cuckoo) - He has been given the name ‘Duke’ as he is such a special boy and so kind and gentle. All will become clearer to the person who is lucky enough to adopt this young man.
Duke is 34 kilos and very laid back. he has been kennelled with a female whilst in racing kennels and will go either on his own or with a female.
He is very settled and no bother at all. Very friendly young man and would make that special someones life complete!
All Duke wants is a soft bed, food and water a few walks (when he can be bothered)!! and love!!!
What Duke will give you in return - A heart bursting with love and joy and if you have never had a greyhound before, then a whole new life changing experience filled with the most wonderful warmth inside with love you have ever known!
There you go! What are you waiting for?
Email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk or call 07811 296029
Misty - Has been re-homed!
Please can anyone help - looking for a foster home which can lead to adoption if so wished for by right home?
Misty is a 3 year old female greyhound who has been in a home for las 2 years. She is fawn and very pretty and loves people.
She is however very ‘foody’ and so needs to be an only pet. This is her only issue and why we would prefer an experienced owner with no other pets or children.
We really don’t want her to come back into kennels as she is a very loving girl and this just wouldn’t be fair to her but the owner has been taken ill and this may be unavoidable unless we can sort a foster home extremely urgently.
Please contact Karen or Dawn on 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
Robert Has Been Re-homed
Robert! Well here is a beautiful sweet 2 year old black male greyhound who is quite simply one of the most laid back boys we have ever known!
He is so very calm and sweet natured and just adores humans and his female greyhounds too! He really loves Liquorise , who he does spend time together with, who is also 2, and they would make a lovely pair for anyone who is wanting to take on a pair!
They chill together, play lovely together. On first meeting, it was like they had always been together.
They are kennelled separate but next to each other, just in case they have to be parted (not what we would prefer) but we need to re-home and unfortunately we are not having a great deal of success with black greyhound just now. Why? Could not tell you - my first ever greyhound was black and my goodness, he changed my world! I adore him as much now as I did when I first laid eyes on him and I lost him back in 2011.
‘A greyhound changed my life’ that was him…look at me now. So where are you all? The ones who are waiting for the right time? the right dog? The right life?
Until one day it is over…too late for them and for you.
You will never know what you have missed out on.
ok, so we have a checklist of what we require. That is welfare. We have to be responsible for the dogs welfare.
These checklist can be found on our website and are things such as secure back gardens with 5 to 6 ft fencing and what type of property, do you have children (is so what age?), any other pets (we do not re-home with cats). And so on.
All these greyhounds desperately need a home. And we desperately need you. Please call Karen or Dawn on 07811 296 029.
Please don’t let Robert be one that is left behind like ‘Brindy’ who is 13 on 25th August 2019. His racing name was Lanesdown Brindy Previously Lanesdown Tiger when in Ireland. He raced at Peterborough and Nottingham after Ireland.
We got a call from a lady 7 years ago to say she had taken him from a trainer and couldn’t cope so had him tied to a radiator in her house and ‘if we didn’t take him’ etc etc etc…. but she brought him to us and he has been left with us. Brindy has issues but could have gone to the right home.
He will now live in final life out here as he is bad on his legs. But he didn’t have to. And he didn’t deserve it.
He loves a cuddle and just needed someone who understood him. Not who treated him badly.
He will always be special to us.
Come and meet him. We will show you - even at 13 - they still need love…..but don’t leave them until 13!
Thank you.
Dawn
Meet Crystal - has been re-homed
Crystal
Crystal is a white female greyhound and is 3 years old.
Crystal will be going to a home either with a boy or she will be going with a boy from here! She needs a companion. She is ok on her own but misses her boys.
She is a fussy, loving, soft girl and loves human attention. We adore her. Loves to play, eat, sleep, walk! Anything you want to do, she will gladly do too!
She is always there with a kiss - on the lips and usually full on with this! She loves a kiss!
She really needs to feel love. She is a really good girl and will bring so much happiness to someones life.
This is quite a lovely story for these 2 and heartwarming. And not an unusual one from this particular racing kennel.
So anyone seriously interested in adopting Crystal and a boy then call Karen or Dawn on 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk or enquiries@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
Liquorice - Has been re-homed!
Meet Liquorice - Now Poppy has been re-homed to Anne & Fiona who volunteer for us and we are delighted she has found love with her new family! She could not have found more love!
Well done Poppy for giving Anne those eyes and working your magic in 30 seconds on Fiona!
A 2 year old black female greyhound – ex racer
This little girl is such a dream. So very sweet and playful and will make someone’s life complete.
You only have to meet this young lady to fall instantly in love with her! She is only a very small girl but has such a cheeky little face.
Ready and waiting for her special family. Loves other dogs and people. Can be homed with another male greyhound for anyone who already has a male or is looking at homing 2!
So if you are the one for our sweet little girl the contact Karen or Dawn on 07811 296029 or enqiries@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
Bruce has been re-homed - Meet Bruce
Meet Bruce
Can you offer this 4 year old blue boy a loving home?
He is in need of some fun and love and the obvious few treats and he would take a bit of food and a cuppa tea too - Chicken dinner would be fine .... yorkshire puds? He is on a bit of a special diet as he does not like dog food as in tinned meat! Nor does he like any kind of ‘wet’ foods! But this lad is so very loving, kind, absolutely melts your heart and he is such a good boy you will not know you have him!
Oh... move up on the bed though... he likes to be comfy!
Now Bruce, does go on walks with other greyhounds but is kennelled alone because he does like his own kennel space but this is only due to his unusual food preferences and for this reason alone we are re-homing him as an only dog so no other pets and as we have mentioned recently only children 10 or over will be considered.
NO CATS!
Please call Dawn or Karen on 07811 296029 if you want to consider Bruce, Billy, Holly, Ben, George or Lucinda X
Re-Homed -Meet Gentleman Ben
Ben is a 4 year old black male greyhound and is the half brother of Billy.
He is such a gentleman and so very sweet natured that we don't want him to leave!
He has amazing eyes that draw you to him and he loves to fuss gently. You cannot help but fall in love with 'Gentleman Ben'.
Ben is new into our rescue and has already made friend of the other greyhounds! He particularly likes to give Edgar our blind greyhound a kiss on the way in and out of the kennels which can be a bit of a surprise to Edgar at times when he's not expecting it!
But Ben is just a lovely boy who needs that special someone to sweep him off his feet and make is life complete.
Of course we fall in love with them all and yes some have to remain here for various reasons, but, it is only fair the ones that can be re-homed are re-homed (however much we miss them)!!!
If you think you can offer this absolutely gorgeous greyhound his special forever home then please call 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk (please leave details of your name, address and circumstances such as work, family and other pets). Please note we do not re-home with cats.
Apollo - Sady passed away to cancer RIP our gorgeous big lad xxx
Apollo has passed away xxx
Apollo is a gorgeous White & Blue Brindle. He is 8 years old and kennelled with Pandora! They do make a stunning couple!
They are loved up and whilst he is a large boy, Pandora is 'the boss'!
As with Pandora, Apollo is an ex coursing greyhound from Ireland and is extremely strong and is on the sponsorship scheme as we have not found the right person/people yet to take on this pair, as they must be rehomed in a pair.
The simple reason being is that they are so strong and because of their hunting background in Ireland, they will need someone who is very, very experienced in the breed and strong enough to keep a good hold of these two.
Apollo as like Pandora, does like his own breed and larger dogs but no smaller dogs or cats etc again due to his background.
He loves people and children but we must again stress we would only consider 'older, children due to the strength of these dogs.
They are a special pair but will remain on sponsorship until the right home comes.
Billy Has Been Re-homed
Billy is a gorgeous black male greyhound who anyone will just fall in love with!
Can I just say something about Billy - he is just wonderful! He reminds me of Gamble my first Greyhound from Karen although a little smaller in size he is so very calm, loving and just no words ca describe this joy of a lad! If I was walking through these kennels (I know I love them all but he would melt me)! He can go with a female too! He is amazing!
He is new into rescue and waiting for his new family to find him and show him what life is really all about....love, play and sleep....food!
He will give love and fun back in bundles!
A wonderful boy and to watch any ex racing greyhound learn the new experiences of what we have all taken for granted with normal pet dogs such as 'play', is the most wonderful experience for any owner, new and old owners.
Billy will make someone the ideal pet.
If you think you are fun loving enough to make Billys dreams come true, then please call the rescue on 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
(Please do not forget to add your address and contact number on emails)
Susie - Re-homed with Bobby
Meet Susie
A beautiful 4 year old black female greyhound.
She is a very calm gentle girl and quite a lady! She is really sweet and a real love to be around.
She has been reserved as fast as she came in as Bobby saw her picture and fell in love (that’s Bobby the brindle that was re-home from here a while ago)!
Hopefully she will find him as attractive when they meet!
Watch this space!
Holly - has been reserved!
Holly is a 4 year old black female greyhound who has just retired from racing.
She was ‘Gentleman Bens’ kennel mate whilst in the racing kennels although he has been here with us a little while now awaiting his forever home!
Holly is a very calm girl and looking for a nice relaxing long comfy life of luxury! Or a few good meals and treats and a sofa & duvet will be fine!!!
She will love, play, cuddle, aim to please and all she will want in return is your love.
She is a sweetheart.
If you want to melt your heart and fill your life with a love like no other then - a greyhound is for you and Holly is waiting.
Contact Dawn or Karen on 07811 296029 or 01205 290145 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk - Holly has been reserved!
Meet Jaxx - Re-homed
Say Hello to Jaxx
He is a 3 & half year old White & Blue boy and he can go with a female greyhound as he does like female company!
He has a lovely character and very friendly.
If you have space in you home and heart for Jaxx and maybe a female for him??? then please call 07811 296029 and talk to Dawn or Karen
We do expect you to make our dogs cups of tea - chicken dinners, yorkshire puds, etc and sing them songs - possibly alsong to Richard Allinsons drive time on Magic radio as they do like him and his music choice! In fact he should really be adopting a greyhound!
But anyway - they like a bit of Rock (Queen is fine), Bon Jovi, Abba too, Steps but you do have to dance to that too - any questions on this then I am sure me and Edgar (he's blind), can stop in and help - and rope a few owners in to demonstrate!
That said these dogs need homes - so lets get them out of here before they think I am round the bend!
Also waiting for homes is. Billy, Linda, Lucinda, Ben, Rogue
Meet Lucinda - Now Re-homed
Meet our 'Lucinda'
Before we talk to anyone about Lucinda we need any potential adoptors to know that whilst a beautiful loving girl, gorgeous colour etc, Lucinda has got issues!!! She is not used to pet dogs and has real problems with small dogs and is strong on lead. We therefore are being careful about homing her as needs to be to a previous greyhound owner who can continue to work with her. She is fine with bigger dogs and one a small dog barks and she realises what it is!!! So please call if you are serious and have got the time to help with her only.
Looking for her forever home. She is 3 years old (4 in Oct) and would really like to snuggle up on a sofa as soon as possible!
Now this little girl has been quite a hit with the boys in the kennels! Edgar, Ben and Billy have all taken a shine to her - not to mention Drac and Helsin! She is a really kind, loving, playful and sweet girl! You will just love her, love her, love her!!!
Anyone who thinks they have what it takes tore-home this gorgeous little girl then please call Dawn or Karen on 07811 296029 or email dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk
Check out our website for more dogs to adopt! Billy, Linda and Ben are still waitng!
We do not re-home with cats and when re-homing with small children we do have to consider each application carefully.
ps...She loves going fundraising and cake shops!!! - and cheese shops and the mugging cars as they are parked at side of road!!! (Yes she did the sponsored walk and was in charge of the charity tin)! X
Lassie - Re-homed
Meet Lassie
Coming in to us soon.
At 2 years old, Lassie is the litter sister of Feather Blade & Lady.
She is again an absolutely gorgeous girl who wasn’t interested in racing as she also much prefered an early retirement (before she started)! I think they must definately have had that family meeting about this?
Again, my type of girl!
She is also a lovely girl but has a different personality to Feather and Lady. They are all individual but all lovely and playful! These are young girls though and still babies!
Anyone interested please contact dawn@greyhoundrescue.org.uk Or call Karen or Dawn on 07811 296029 but please be quick as we do expect a lot of interest in these girls.
